People buy a Logitech MX Keys, MX Keys S, or MX Keys Mini because one keyboard can follow three machines. Easy-Switch is the feature on the box. The part that never makes the spec sheet is what happens to your wrists when channel 1 is a desktop, channel 2 is a laptop, and channel 3 is an iPad: the hosts change, the MX Keys still sits flat, and you type the same dead-level key well all day.

This is not a Mac-only pairing guide, and it is not a hybrid “two desks” article. It is a multi-host, one-keyboard setup: keep the board on a real desk, clip on a fixed 15° KeyRiser pair, and let Easy-Switch change computers instead of changing posture. KeyRiser fits only those three MX Keys models. It is not a medical device and does not treat RSI.

What Easy-Switch is (and is not)

Easy-Switch lets one MX Keys family keyboard pair with up to three hosts. A short press jumps channel. A long press puts that channel into pairing. Hosts can be Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, iPadOS, or Android, depending on the keyboard and Logitech’s current support matrix.

Enhanced Easy-Switch, in current Logi Options+, can make a compatible MX mouse follow the keyboard when you change channel. Logitech’s own support notes that you pair both devices on each computer first, then link them in Options+ on one machine, and that Options+ should run on every computer you hop between. Original MX Keys, MX Keys S, and Mini all have the three-channel hardware; enhanced mouse-follow is documented for MX Keys S and Mini (and S for Mac / Mini for Mac). If your older MX Keys does not show the link toggle, you still get manual Easy-Switch on the keyboard — and you still get the same KeyRiser clip, because the underside did not change.

Easy-Switch does not:

Add tilt legs (none of these boards have them).
Equalize laptop-on-sofa geometry with a desktop chair.
Make KeyRiser fit a Magic Keyboard or MX Mechanical.

The multi-device posture problem

Three hosts usually means three bad default postures:

The MX Keys already solved the “too many keyboards” problem. It did not solve the angle. CCOHS still wants a neutral wrist — in line with the forearm — and a keyboard you can raise at the back or the front depending on what keeps that line. OSHA says the same in different words: tilt is a means, not a brand promise.

If you park one compatible MX Keys on one desk and switch hosts in firmware, you only have to get the physical setup right once. That is the sales-relevant move. Buying a second “ergonomic” keyboard for the iPad, then a tray for the PC, is how people spend hundreds to avoid a two-piece clip.

The one-desk rule

Keep the keyboard on the desk. Move the channel, not the board.

Put the MX Keys, MX Keys S, or Mini on the desk you actually type at.
Clip one KeyRiser foot onto each rear corner. Fixed 15°. No tools, no glue.
Pair channel 1 to the desktop, channel 2 to the laptop (closed or on a stand), channel 3 to the iPad in a folio stand.
Raise the laptop/iPad screens so you look forward. The MX Keys stays where your elbows already are.
Optional: link a compatible MX mouse in Options+ so it follows the keyboard.

When you take the laptop to a meeting, leave the MX Keys on the desk. The laptop has its own keys for the hallway. When you come back, channel 2 is still the same 15° board.

This is the opposite of “portable ergo” that puts Mini on a cafe table with no plan. If you truly live in cafes, read mobile keyboard ergonomics and pack the two feet (they weigh about 3 g each). Do not expect a cafe table to match your home chair.

Channel map that holds a 15° angle

A practical map for a PC + Mac + iPad person:

Channel 1 — Desktop (Bolt or Bluetooth). This is the high-volume host. Full-size MX Keys or S if you want a numpad. KeyRiser stays on.
Channel 2 — Laptop. Laptop on a stand, lid at eye line, MX Keys still on the desk. Do not balance the MX Keys on the laptop chassis; that undoes both angle and stability.
Channel 3 — iPad. iPad on a stand at the back of the same desk, or to the side. Stage Manager / Sidecar users type on the MX Keys, not on glass.

Original MX Keys uses Unifying; S uses Bolt. Bluetooth covers the iPad either way. Receiver choice does not change KeyRiser fit. For S versus original as a keyboard purchase, use MX Keys vs MX Keys S.

If the iPad is a side screen and you live in spreadsheets on the PC, full-size plus KeyRiser is the calmer setup. If the iPad is the computer three days a week and you walk between rooms, Mini plus the same feet is the calmer setup. Do not buy both keyboards “for ergonomics.” Buy one compatible board, one pair of feet, and a stand for the tablet.

Options+ without turning this into a software essay

Install current Logi Options+ on each computer you hop between if you want enhanced mouse-follow. Pair keyboard and mouse to the same channel numbers on each host, then link once. Firmware prompts belong in the Logitech app, not in a riser article.

Use Options+ to cut repeat keystrokes if you want less finger travel. That is extra. It does not replace the 15° clip. Combining both is reasonable; substituting software for a flat board is how people stay uncomfortable while collecting macros.

Objections from people who already own three devices

“I type on the sofa with the iPad.” Then the MX Keys is a lap keyboard and KeyRiser will be annoying. Use the iPad on a table, or accept on-screen keys for couch time. The 15° setup is a desk setup.

“My laptop is the only computer.” You still benefit from an external MX Keys on a desk versus laptop keys. That is laptop ergonomics. Easy-Switch is optional until a second host appears.

“I’ll wait for a keyboard with legs.” MX Keys S did not add legs. A rumored S2 is not a purchase plan. Clip-on feet exist now for the three listed models.

“Universal tablet keyboard already has a kickstand.” Those keyboards are not MX Keys, and KeyRiser will not fit them. Do not order the feet for a folio keyboard.

“Glass desk, the board slides when I hammer keys on channel 1.” That is a surface problem. See MX Keys slides after a riser.

What “qualified traffic” looks like on this setup

A few buying checks so you do not order the wrong thing:

The keyboard name must match the compatibility list. “For Mac” versions of MX Keys S and Mini are still MX Keys S and Mini.
MX Keys for Business is not listed. Do not assume it fits.

A 15-minute first-time setup

Identify the model. If it is not one of the three, stop.
Clip on KeyRiser. Type a sentence. If a foot rocks, reseat it.
Pair channel 1 to the machine you use most.
Pair channel 2 and 3. Name them in your head (PC / laptop / iPad) so you do not hunt lights.
Put laptop and iPad on stands. Screens up, keyboard still on the desk.
Optional: link the mouse in Options+.
Work one real hour on each channel without moving the MX Keys.

If the angle feels new, that is the flat-to-15° change, not Easy-Switch. Give it a few sessions before you return the feet. If the clip is wrong for the chassis, return immediately.

FAQ

Does KeyRiser work while Easy-Switch hops between computers?

Yes. The feet are plastic on the chassis. They do not touch Bluetooth, Bolt, or Unifying.

Does Enhanced Easy-Switch require MX Keys S?

Logitech documents enhanced mouse-follow for MX Keys S, Mini, and the Mac variants of those. Original MX Keys still has three channels. KeyRiser still lists original MX Keys as compatible.

Can I use KeyRiser on an iPad Magic Keyboard folio?

No. That is a different keyboard. KeyRiser only fits the three MX Keys models.

Should I buy Mini for travel and full-size for the desk?

Only if you truly need two boards. Most people need one board on one desk and a laptop’s built-in keys for the train. Two KeyRiser pairs would only make sense if you own two compatible keyboards.

Is 15° required for multi-device work?

No. It is KeyRiser’s fixed angle for supported MX Keys boards. Easy-Switch works with the keyboard flat. The argument here is not to undo a good radio setup with a bad wrist setup.
